Team history

Arsenal Football Club was founded in 1886 by workers at the Royal Arsenal munitions factory in Woolwich, southeast London. Originally named Dial Square, the club soon became Royal Arsenal and later Woolwich Arsenal before relocating to Highbury in north London in 1913. It was at this point that the club dropped ``Woolwich`` from its name and simply became Arsenal. The move to Highbury marked a turning point, as Arsenal grew in popularity and financial strength, eventually joining the First Division (now Premier League) in 1919.

Under legendary manager Herbert Chapman in the 1930s, Arsenal became one of England`s dominant clubs, winning multiple league titles and revolutionizing football tactics and professionalism. The club continued its success post–World War II and into the modern era. In the late 1990s and early 2000s, Arsène Wenger led Arsenal through a golden period, including an unforgettable ``Invincibles`` season in 2003–04 when the club went unbeaten throughout the Premier League campaign. Today, Arsenal is recognized worldwide for its attacking football, historic rivalries, and loyal global fan base.
